If your campaign has a fixed launch date, work backwards from it: shoot 6 to 10 weeks before go-live, and reserve the studio 3 to 4 weeks before the shoot day if that day falls in a peak window. Outside peaks, one or two weeks of notice is usually enough. At SkyLight in Dubai Investment Park 2, a standard zone starts at AED 350 per hour plus 5% VAT, the cyclorama is AED 700 plus VAT for a two-hour block, and video bookings start at AED 750 per hour.
Two campaign seasons sit ahead of us right now. Commemoration Day and UAE National Day land on 1 and 2 December 2026, fixed every year. Ramadan 2027 is expected to begin around 8 February and run to roughly 8 March, with Eid al-Fitr around 9 March. Those Ramadan dates depend on moon sighting and can move by a day, so treat them as planning anchors rather than confirmed dates.

The UAE season calendar, read as shoot dates
Every seasonal campaign in this market attaches to one of six moments. Here they are with the part that matters for a shoot day.
| Season | 2026-27 timing | What it means for your studio day |
|---|---|---|
| Commemoration Day | 1 December, fixed | Shares the December content wave; usually one asset, not a campaign |
| UAE National Day | 2 December, fixed | Shoot in the second half of October, book studio by early November |
| Ramadan | approx. 8 Feb — 8 Mar 2027 (moon sighting) | Shoot in late December or early January |
| Eid al-Fitr | approx. 9 March 2027 | Same shoot day as Ramadan, different edit and copy |
| Eid al-Adha | approx. mid-May 2027 | Shoot late March or early April |
| Summer indoor season | June to September | Heat pushes everything inside; studio demand rises for months |
The lunar dates move about 10 to 11 days earlier each year, which is why a calendar you built in 2025 will quietly betray you in 2027. Rebuild it every autumn. If you want the full picture on how far ahead to reserve time, we wrote a separate breakdown on how long to book a photo studio in Dubai.
Counting backwards from launch day
Take the launch date, subtract editing and approvals, then subtract the shoot. A worked example, using the real 2027 calendar: campaign goes live 1 March, you shoot in late December, and the studio is booked in mid-November.
Here is the arithmetic behind it. Post-production and rounds of client approval on a seasonal set of assets usually eat three to five weeks. Retouching alone can run a week if you have thirty product shots. Add a buffer for the one thing that always slips: legal or brand sign-off on Arabic copy. That puts the shoot at 6 to 10 weeks before launch. Then the booking itself: three to four weeks before the shoot day for peak windows, one to two weeks the rest of the year.
Brands running both December and Ramadan often shoot them together in one October block, because the wardrobe and the crew are already assembled. That works if the two campaigns share a model and a palette. It stops working the moment the National Day set needs a flag-tone backdrop and the Ramadan set needs warm lamplight. Two zones, one day, is the cleaner answer. Message us with both briefs and we will tell you whether it fits in one booking.
National Day: a short, crowded December window
December is compressed. National Day content has to be live by 28 or 29 November to catch the build-up, which means the shoot happens in the second half of October, and the studio gets reserved in the first week of November.
Our calendar tells the same story every year: the seasonal wave starts around the second week of November and the weekend slots go first. Saturdays in late November are the hardest thing to get in our whole year. Weekday mornings stay open much longer, and they are the better shoot anyway, because you get the room quiet and the whole block to yourself.
National Day work is heavier on set dressing than on lighting. Flags, national palette, a hero product, sometimes a family scene. Our themed photoshoot sets carry most of that load: the loft and the vintage living room read as home, the industrial container gives you a harder editorial look, and the private jet set works for premium brands that want the aspirational register. Send us the mood board and we will tell you which two zones cover it.
Ramadan campaigns get shot in January, not in Ramadan
Almost every brand that shoots Ramadan content well shoots it before the month starts. The reason is practical. During Ramadan the city’s working rhythm shifts to the evening, approvals slow down, talent availability narrows, and your team is trying to produce and publish at the same time.
Shooting in late December or early January gives you the whole of January for editing and a clean approval cycle in the first week of February. It also gives you room for the Eid al-Fitr assets, which are usually the same shoot with a brighter grade and different copy. Plan them in the same session, on the same day, and you save an entire booking.
Food and gifting sit at the centre of most Ramadan campaigns, and that is where our kitchen set does the work: iftar table scenes, date boxes, gift hampers, dessert content. It has real surfaces and real daylight direction, so the food does not look like it was dropped onto a white sweep. Book it early in January, before the pre-Ramadan rush, and you will get the full day rather than a squeezed afternoon.
If you do shoot inside the month
Assume your eight-hour shoot day will not assemble the way it usually does. UAE labour law typically shortens the standard private-sector working day by two hours during Ramadan (confirm the specifics for your own team rather than treating this as legal advice), and the whole city slides towards the evening after iftar.
Three ways to handle it, and you pick one before you book, not on the morning of the shoot. Option one: two short shifts, a morning block and a post-iftar block, with the food and drink frames moved into the evening. Option two: a single compact morning session, which is what I would push you towards. Option three: recut the shot list until it honestly fits the hours you have.
That last one deserves a number. On a four-hour block on the cyclorama with one model, one person on wardrobe and someone changing backdrops, three looks are comfortable and four is achievable if the rail is prepped before you arrive. In a shortened Ramadan day, plan for two. Our hours stay 10:00 to 22:00 every day of the year, so an evening slot after iftar is available. Ask for it when you book, because those slots go fast during the month.
What belongs in the frame
Seasonal content in the UAE is read closely, and the tone carries as much weight as the lighting. Modest styling, a calmer register, family and hospitality at the centre. Food and drink shown in daylight scenes during Ramadan makes some brands uncomfortable, and many move those frames to evening settings or shoot them warm and lamp-lit so they read as iftar rather than lunch.
None of this is a rule with a number attached to it. There is no percentage, no fixed list of banned frames. It is a brand decision about your audience, and the brands that get it right are the ones that decided before the shot list was written, not during the edit. Write the tone into the brief. If your set needs to read as evening, tell us at booking so we prep the zone with warm modifiers rather than daylight.
National Day sits at the other end of the register: brighter, prouder, more openly celebratory. Same studio, different emotional temperature. Bring both mood boards if you are shooting both.
Which zone for which seasonal deliverable
Match the deliverable to the set before you look at the calendar, because the zone decides how many hours you need.
| Seasonal content | Zone | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Clean product, packshots, e-com | Cyclorama, 8×6 m | Seamless corner, 19+ backdrop options, no visible floor line |
| Composite and CGI backplates | Green screen setup | Tell us at booking so the set is ready when you arrive |
| Iftar table, gift boxes, dessert | Kitchen | Real surfaces and directional daylight |
| National Day lifestyle, family scenes | Loft, vintage living room | Reads as a home, not a set |
| Premium and luxury gifting | Private jet, container | Aspirational and editorial registers |
Seven zones sit under one roof here, which is the practical reason seasonal campaigns fit into a single day: you move from a packshot corner to a lifestyle scene without loading a van. Current rates for every zone are on the studio rental price page. Pick two zones, send us the date, and we will hold them together.
Mistakes that cost people a season
Five things go wrong every year, and four of them are booking decisions.
Booking the shoot day before the product exists. Final packaging arrives from the printer after the shoot more often than anyone admits, and you end up reshooting hero frames in February. Confirm the packaging date first, then book.
Booking a single hour for a multi-look campaign. Our minimum is one hour, but a seasonal set with wardrobe changes needs three or four. Setup, changes and offload are real time.
Leaving the studio booking until the shoot week in November or January. The weekend slots in those two windows are gone weeks earlier.
Assuming the crew comes with the room. We rent the space; we are not your production team. Bring your photographer, or plan for the fact that you will be shooting it yourself.
Then the small one that stings: what people forget to bring. A steamer, spare batteries, the actual props for the table, and the Arabic version of any on-set copy. On video bookings two Profoto flashes and a modifier are included; on photo bookings the lighting can be added, so ask when you reserve rather than on the day.
We have run the space since 2020 and hold a 4.6 rating across around 290 Google reviews. WhatsApp the shoot date and the two zones you want to +971 56 839 9199, and we will confirm the block.
FAQ
When should I book the studio for a Ramadan campaign launching 1 March?
Shoot in late December or early January, and reserve the studio in mid-November. That gives you a month for editing and a clean approval window in early February.
Can I shoot during Ramadan itself?
Yes. Plan for a shorter working day, move food and drink frames to evening slots after iftar, and cut the shot list to roughly two looks per four-hour block instead of three.
Do studios in Dubai run reduced hours during Ramadan?
Ours do not. We are open 10:00 to 22:00 every day of the year, including Ramadan. Other venues vary, so confirm hours directly with whoever you book.
How many studio hours does a seasonal campaign need?
For a campaign with three to four looks and both stills and short video, plan four to six hours. Product-only sets often finish in a two-hour cyclorama block.
How is National Day shooting different from Ramadan?
The date is fixed, the window is shorter, and the tone is brighter. Book by early November for a late-October shoot, because December weekends fill first.
Is studio rental cheaper during Ramadan?
Our rates do not change by season. A standard zone starts at AED 350 per hour plus 5% VAT year-round. The saving comes from booking early and not paying for a rushed reshoot.
Can a whole campaign fit into one day with shortened hours?
Only if you shoot in two zones with one wardrobe direction and a prepped rail. Two campaigns with different palettes need two days, or a split morning and evening booking.
Which zones do I need for seasonal content?
The cyclorama for clean product frames, the kitchen for iftar and gifting, and one themed set for lifestyle. Two zones cover most seasonal campaigns.
