Yes, you can rent a studio at night in Dubai. At SkyLight in Dubai Investment Park 2 we run two night formats: after-hours by the hour at the standard rate (a 2-hour minimum works out to roughly 750 AED including VAT, per zone) and a flat full-night block from 10pm to 8am at 3,000 AED per zone. Booking is the same as daytime: check your date on WhatsApp, confirm the zone and hours, pay, and you get access. Our doors are open daily 10:00–22:00, and after-hours simply extends past that.

I’m Artur Gall, founder of a Dubai rental studio, running SkyLight since 2020. Night bookings are one of those things people assume aren’t possible until they ask. They are, and for a few kinds of shoots, night is genuinely the better slot. Here’s exactly how it works.

Does SkyLight rent the studio at night?

The two options: yes, and you pick by how many hours you need. If you want a few hours past closing, book after-hours by the hour. If you want the whole night to yourself, take the full-night block.

After-hours hourly — from ~750 AED per 2 hours (incl. VAT), per zone

Our standard rate of 350 AED/hour per zone applies after 22:00 too. There’s no separate «night surcharge» and no invented night discount, it’s the same rate, just later. The minimum booking is 2 hours, so the entry point is 2 × 350 = 700 AED, plus 5% VAT, which lands at roughly 735–750 AED per zone. That’s what «night rental from 750 AED / 2 hours» means in practice.

Use this when you need to run past 10pm for an hour or three: a late edit of the shot list, a talent who’s only free after work, a couple of extra setups.

Full-night block — 10pm to 8am, 3,000 AED per zone

The full-night package is a flat 3,000 AED per zone for the whole 10pm–8am window (add 5% VAT). Ten hours, one price, one zone, uninterrupted. No watching the clock, no back-to-back handover with the next renter.

This is the format for big multi-look days compressed into a night, overnight product runs, or anything where you’d rather own the space than count hours.

Before you book: the exact night and full-night rates, with VAT already worked in, are listed on the photo studio rental price page — check them before you message.

Why book a studio at night in Dubai?

Short answer: night solves four real problems — a full daytime schedule, noise, heat, and traffic. None of these are marketing angles; they’re the actual reasons people ask for after-hours slots.

You shoot elsewhere by day — or have a day job

Plenty of our night renters are photographers and creators whose daylight hours are already booked, or who hold a 9-to-6 and can only get to the studio in the evening. A full-night block hands you the whole space once the rest of your day is done. No fighting for a 6pm slot that’s already gone.

Silence for interviews, voiceover and sound-sensitive work

This is about the room, not a service, and I want to be clear on that. SkyLight is a rental space, not a production house. But the building in DIP2 is quiet and isolated at night: no neighbouring units running, no road noise, no foot traffic. That makes it a clean environment to record a talking-head interview, lay down voiceover, or shoot anything where a stray sound ruins the take. You bring your own recording gear and operator; the space stays quiet around you.

Cooler temperatures

Dubai daytime heat is real, and load-in under a midday sun is its own kind of misery. At night the drive is cooler, carrying gear from car to set is easier, and if your shoot involves anything that struggles in heat, the timing helps.

Easier logistics — parking, empty roads, drive-up load-in

DIP2 is quiet at night in the best way. Free parking right at the entrance. Empty roads on the way in, no Marina or Downtown gridlock eating your call time. And a ground-floor, drive-up load-in, so you pull up to the door and carry gear straight in instead of wrestling it through a lobby and a lift.

Action: if your shoot fits any of these, message us on WhatsApp to check the night you want.

How night booking works, step by step

The mechanic: it’s the daytime process, extended past 10pm. No special form, no different channel.

  1. Check the date on WhatsApp. Send us the night and the hours you’re after. We confirm the zone is free.
  2. Confirm zone and hours. Pick after-hours by the hour, or the full-night block. Choose your zone (or zones, pricing is per zone).
  3. Pay to lock it. Payment confirms the slot; the booking isn’t held until it’s paid.
  4. Get access. You receive access details for your window. Show up, load in, shoot.

That’s it. The whole thing runs on WhatsApp, no account, no cart.

Next step: start a booking by messaging WhatsApp with your date and hours.

Night rate vs daytime rate — what you actually pay

Quick version: the hourly rate is identical day or night; the full-night block is where the per-hour cost drops. There’s no premium for shooting late, and the flat overnight package makes long sessions cheaper by the hour.

Format Price (per zone) + 5% VAT Effective per hour
After-hours, 2-hour minimum 700 AED ~735–750 AED ~350 AED/hr
After-hours, per additional hour 350 AED ~368 AED ~350 AED/hr
Full-night block, 10pm–8am (10 hrs) 3,000 AED 3,150 AED ~300 AED/hr

The full-night block works out to about 300 AED per hour per zone across ten hours, cheaper per hour than a peak daytime hour, because you’re committing to the whole night. All prices are per zone, all include 5% VAT when calculated, and there are no hidden night charges.

What to do next: see the full rate card, including day rates for comparison, on the studio rental pricing page.

Which zones and sets are available at night?

All of them. Every one of the seven themed zones and the 8×6m cyclorama is available for night and full-night bookings, same as daytime.

Loft, living room, private jet, container, kitchen, the cyclorama: nothing is off-limits after hours. If you want a multi-look night, remember pricing is per zone, so a full-night block on two zones is two blocks. The cyclorama at 8×6m stays available too, which matters if you’re shooting product or talking-head against seamless white.

Your next move: browse the seven themed sets and cyclorama to decide which fits your night shoot.

What’s included after hours

What you get: the same kit as a daytime booking, no downgrade for night. After-hours and full-night bookings include exactly what a daytime slot does.

Every booking comes with 2 studio flashes plus modifiers, free. That’s your working light out of the box. Profoto is included free on video bookings; on photo bookings it’s available on request, just ask when you confirm. Bring your own camera, lenses, cards, and any recording gear you need for interviews or voiceover.

For the full gear list and what to pack versus what’s already here, read what’s included in a photo studio rental.

Action: confirm your Profoto or lighting needs in the same WhatsApp message when you book.

Overnight etiquette, access and security at night

House rules: same as daytime, plus a bit more self-reliance since the building is quiet. A few practical points:

  • Access is for your window. You get the space for the hours you booked. Full-night runs 10pm–8am; plan your load-out before 8am.
  • Up to 10 people per zone. Capacity is the same at night, up to 10 people per zone.
  • Leave it as you found it. Reset the set, take your rubbish, no damage. Standard renter courtesy.
  • You’re largely on your own. Overnight the building is quiet, which is the whole point, so keep your gear secure and your crew to your booked zone.

One thing to ask: if you have a specific access question for a late slot, raise it on WhatsApp before the night.
