The loft set with real windows is where most engagement sessions actually end up. Directional daylight through the middle of the day, a floor you can walk across, and enough depth that your photographer can shoot you from across the room instead of standing a metre away from your face. If the session is feeding a save the date card or an invitation, one rule changes everything: leave room for words.
A designer needs empty background beside or above you. Shoot a few frames wider than feels right, keep both of you off-centre, and use a plain backdrop so type stays readable over it. The cyclorama does this better than any furnished set, because a solid colour behind your heads takes text without a fight.

Lighting deserves a straight answer, because couples ask it constantly. On a video booking, two Profoto flash heads with modifiers are included at no extra charge. On a photo booking, Profoto can be added on request rather than coming free with the hour, so ask when you book. Managed venues, malls and hotel grounds in Dubai generally want to know about a shoot with lights and a tripod before it happens, and the answer varies by property. That conversation is your photographer’s to have, and it is the part of an outdoor plan that most often collapses two days before the date.
And yes, your photographer can book the studio in their own name. Plenty of them do, either passing the rental through to you at cost or folding it into their own quote. Either way the booking sits with whoever is paying, and the rate is the same. If you shoot video as well as stills, the video rental rate applies for the hours the camera is rolling.

How to prepare as a couple
Wardrobe first, because it is the thing that ruins the most frames. Match tone families rather than exact colours, so a navy suit sits next to a soft blue dress instead of a second navy suit. Avoid white on a white cyclorama unless your photographer is deliberately building a high-key look, and avoid a black suit on a dark backdrop without a rim light behind you, because the shape disappears. Solid colours beat prints almost every time when there are two people in frame.
Hang everything the moment you arrive. Creases from the car ride are invisible until a hard light hits them.
The ring is its own small job. Clean it the night before with a jeweller’s cloth and bring the cloth with you, since fingerprints show up enormous in a macro frame. Ring close-ups are usually shot on a plain surface rather than on a hand, so it costs about ten minutes at the end of a set, not a separate booking.
