One trick before you hire a screen: the white cyclorama makes a big projection surface if your projector is bright enough, though studio light and a projected image fight each other. Run the slides and the lit demo as separate blocks of the session and you often skip the screen rental. Two cameras beat one for teaching footage. Lock a wide on the presenter and the demo area, then put a second camera on whatever the hands are doing. The close angle is what makes a technique legible to someone watching later on a laptop.
Sound is where self recorded courses die. Put a lavalier on the presenter and treat audience questions as a separate problem, because a question shouted from the back row and picked up by an on camera mic is unusable. Drill the habit of repeating each question into the presenter’s mic before the day.
Choose the zone for shelf life.
